 In 1964 some of the most prominent and historic fired brick producers in northern Italy, joined forces to build an expanded clay plant giving birth to what is now known as Laterlite S.p.A.  

1964 INSULATING AND FIRE-RESISTANT LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE BLOCK PLANT

Soon after, a new factory for producing insulating and fire-resistant concrete blocks was built. At that precise moment, our legal history began. The block factory was equipped with the state-of-the-art US-made block making auto plant that unfortunately did not perform as expected since was soon discovered that lightweight mix is harder to pack of regular concrete.

1966 RE-ENGINEERING OF LIGHT BLOCK MAKING MACHINE, NEW FACTORIES

Since we pioneered the product, no ready to use technologies were available and we had to develop the product and the production equipment technology knowledge. After a complete reengineering of the block making machine, production started and since our company grew and more block factories were added, it was decided to build in the house the machinery, plants and molds.

1982 FIELD OF ACTIVITIES EXPANSION TO FIBER CEMENT TECHNOLOGIES, CONCRETE PAVERS, MINERALIZED WOOD BLOCKS, POLYURETHANE TECHNOLOGIES AND EQUIPMENT FOR HARD FACING TREATMENTS

In 1982 a rationalization of the company structure consolidates the engineering, machinery and equipment building activities in a new company named Gemini Impianti. A new dedicated factory with state-of-the-art equipment for engineering and equipment building activities was created. The field of activities expanded also in Fiber Cement technologies, Concrete Pavers, Mineralized woodblocks, Polyurethane technologies and equipment for hard facing treatments.

2017 ROBOTICS, R&D PROGRAMS GRANTED BY EU H2020 PROGRAM

The technologies are still showing a very promising growth as the market is leaning vs higher aesthetic, safer and lower carbon footprint buildings. 

From 2017 we began a very ambitious R&D program that resulted in 2019 strong company growth with very promising for 2020 forecast. Our R&D projects have been recognized very valuable from many top research organizations. For instance: one of our projects has been awarded a grant from the EU H2020 program.  On another project, we are co-developers with ENEA (One of the top Italian government-owned Research entities).
